OSHA Fall Protection and EPA RRP Training Riverhead NY

On 9/15/2011 residential contractors are required by OSHA to have a written fall protection plan in place for work 6 feet above lower levels. Contractors are required to use fall arrest systems, safety nets or guard rails. In the event they cannot they must create a site specific work plan and have it on site. This new directive is catching many residential contractors off guard. The vast majority of residential contractors have no OSHA safety plans in place and are sitting ducks if OSHA visits their site.

Last Friday 7/15/2011 the EPA made several changes to the EPA RRP Lead rule. These changes now must be incorporated into the RRP Certified Renovator training. One significant change is the requirement of vertical containment when working on suraces that are less than 10 feet form the property line. This requirement will surely wreak havoc with fall protection.

We are providing back to back trainings in Riverhead, NY next week to help contractors meet these requirments.

On 7/28/2011 I will be training contractors on the EPA RRP Lead Law with the new revisions. The training provider in NCHH. EPA RRP Training in Riverhead, NY 7/28/11
