OSHA Nails Contractor for not wearing harnesses

On Friday I got a call from a contractor who was just nailed by OSHA because some of his guys were not wearing harnesses. It turns out some of his guys were tied off and some were not. The OSHA inspector assessed the violations totaling $17,000.00. The contractor has asked us to meet with OSHA on his behalf in the hopes we may be able to persuade them to lower the fines. We will provide abatement services at the OSHA office hearing.

Many contractors in the residential construction industry have put their head in sand and ignored the recent OSHA fall protection mandate. The mandate became effective on 9/16/2011.

In order to avoid having a bad day from OSHA contractors need to prove that they are compliant with the Fall Protection Standard.

We have trainings and seats avaailble this week. One in Auburn tomorrow and one in Andover on Thursday.

I took an oath as a young lad when I joined the US military to defend my country from enemies outside and from within, sadly I am afraid most are with in our country under the guise of govt. agencies who don't really care about safety , lead and asbestos, or the children or workers they claim to protect !!!. This osha crap is a total grab for our money so govt. workers can protect their income and retirement benefits down the road. I predict that they are going to fail in their attempt in this undeclared war against small business. I choose to protect my workers and customers for the correct reasons because I care about people, not because of a misguided commie agenda !!!
