Stay tuned; 90 Blog Posts for contractors in ninety days

Recently I have been asked by several residential contractors to start posts on subjects pertaining to challenges faced in the residential construction industry. In addition, a national lead generation company and Contractor Talk.Com Forum members have invited me to write articles and posts about the residential construction industry to benefit their readership.

Two of the most requested subjects are sales training and marketing for residential contractors.

With this new opportunity, it is obvious that I need to ramp up my writing activity and become more consistent.

Therefore, I am publicly challenging myself in this post, to write on average, one blog post per day for the next 90 days to form a new habit.

I know I will be held accountable to this goal by my contractor clients and business associates. I am sure they would love to give me grief if their coach didn't stay after himself and deliver.

So if you find I haven't written a post, on average one per day, I want you to hold me to task and give me the kick in the butt I would give you for not staying on task.

To kick me in the butt for not staying on task my number is 508-847-0162.

What stategies or techniques do you use to hold yourself accountable for the goals you set for yourself?

It only takes 21 days to form a habit. Does this mean your planning to post on Christmas day? What happened to family balance? Do you think anyone is really going to be reading that day? Not to mention, are you sure your readership really wants to get that many posts from you? It could be a turn off.

If you want ideas for posts, check out other peoples blogs and use a piece of it to make a point.

Good luck.

Hello Jason,

As always good points. Balance is so important and that is why I said I would average one post per day over ninety days. The reality though is with the ability to schedule when the posts are published I will likely write the post for holidays and days off during my scheduled work hours. Gotta keep the balance!

Have a great Christmas

It's not that hard to write a post a day, especially when you get in the habit. In rare situations when I'm not available, I've pre-written posts to be published on the day I'm off (blogger software at least allows this scheduling option.)
So why do it? I enjoy writing and, yes, continued posting ultimately can help you to get to the top of relevant Google keywords (but if you are doing this stuff just for SEO, you'll likely be disappointed.)
