Wow the time has gone by so fast. It was a year ago when I was sworn in as the President of EMNARI. 2014 was a great year to serve the chapter.

Below is a picture of the EMNARI board for 2014. If you are wondering which one is me....the guy with the full mop of hair first on the left...and for those of you who like to rib me about my hair...yes it is the real thing and natural color....

On Wednesday night (1/7/2015) EMNARI will kick off the new year with the first dinner meeting at Boston University Agannis Arena. Last fall EMNARI built a Luxury Box at the arena to increase our exposure to consumers in the Boston market. We will induct or new officers to lead our organization for 2015. It will be my turn to pass the baton to our new President Elect, James Lavallee of Lavallee Plumbing and Heating.

I am writing to you about EMNARI because it is a great organization that supports professional remodelers by providing a venue where we come together to network and learn from each other, meet mentors and industry experts. 

In 2002, EMNARI was instrumental in my career development. I learned about the organization in a Peer Group education program run by fellow member Shawn McCadden, CR, CLC, CAPS. Shawn helped me and co-workers learn the Lead Carpenter Production program. As I trained our remodeling sales staff, Shawn trained 12 of our lead carpenters to be NARI Certified Lead Carpenters (CLC). In a matter of a few months under Shawn's guidance in our Peer Groups, we turned our company around. Thank you NARI for bringing Shawn into our view. We learned so many cutting edge best practice strategies in the Peer Groups lead by Shawn that helped me become the Contractor Business Coach I am today. He mentored our team and me and we EMNARI to thank for bringing him into our world.

Today, I am working with Shawn and we are starting a Construction Business Owner Education and Peer Group Program in February in the Boston and Mass area. Instead of being in the class learning I now have the opportunity to teach what I have learned to remodelers with the mentor I met 10 years ago.
