Ice dam damage in MassachusettsA contractor client just wrote in and reported a Massachusetts homeowner with storm damage was given a low ball offer to repair their home. The home ravaged by the recent snow and ice storms, will need a lot more work than the insurance adjuster is offering to itemize.

From a contractor who comes to our trainings..

My husband just estimated a job at $40,000 in repairs...the adjuster gave the homeowner $8,000.
We advised the homeowner to obtain and submit at least three estimates, and then possibly work with a private adjuster instead of one hired by their ins co.

This spring we will see hundreds of homeowners offered settlement amounts that will not cover the actual damage they incurred in this brutal winter.

One of the best ways for a homeowner to protect themselves is to partner with a professional contractor who knows how to handle insurance claims and the insurance adjusters.

These contractors will properly figure and organize the construction insurance scope of work and pricing. Then explain it to the adjuster.

I teach contractors how to do this so they can be heroes for their homeowner clients.

To be a hero for you clients look into our workshop on How to Handle Storm Damage Insurance Claims effectively. Or you can contact me directly for private consultations.
