To help residential home improvement contractors to avoid citations and fines and get in compliance with OSHA Fall Protection, Harvey Building Products is hosting 3 fall protection trainings with us in early May.
OSHA has announced that they will be focusing on Fall Protection compliance leading up to the National Fall Protection Stand Down Week in early June.
Fall Protection for Residential Construction (6 CEU's for CSL's)
In this 6 hour class students will learn about the OSHA Fall Protection Standards regarding working safe while up on elevated levels and working surfaces. The class will focus on identifying, evaluating and preventing fall hazards and falls and using personal protective equipment, scaffolding, ladders and lifts. The class is ideal for the small construction employer, business owner, production managers, foremen, lead carpenters and employees. At the conclusion of the training each student will receive a certificate of completion.
Topics covered in the Estimating Workshop
- OSHA Subpart M: Duty to have fall protection
- OSHA Subpart L: Scaffolding
- OSHA Subpart X: Stairways and Ladders
- Inspecting, donning, wearing and using a harness
- The process of using a job hazard assessment form to identify hazards on a job site.
- Using a harness, anchor point and lifeline.
Each student will receive:
- Job hazard assessment forms and checklist
- Sample fall protection plan template
- Numerous safety checklists
- Tool box talk subjects and forms
