Sterritt Lumber hosts EMNARI contractor seminar; 8th Ed of Ma Code

Eastern Mass NARI is holding its third seminar on the 8th edition of the Mass State Building Code. (Download seminar flyer) The host for this seminar is EMNARI member Sterritt Lumber. The speaker is Mike Guigli from the BBRS. Many contractors are still unaware that a new Mass State Building Code is now in effect since the beginning of August. Please spread the word to other contractors so they can be prepared for figuring the cost of new projects effected by the new codes.

Did you know the MA Residential building Code (1&2 Family Dwellings)
is now based on the International Residential Code PLUS Mass
Amendments?
To help you prepare for the changes to the MA State Building Code,
EM NARI is offering this informative session with Mike Guigli of the
Board of Regulations and Standards (BBRS) which oversees promulgation
of the MA State Building code (780CMR).
The BBRS announced that the 8th Edition MA Residential Code is effective
as of February 4, 2011. The 7th Edition residential code will
remain in effect concurrently with the new 8th edition until August 4,
2011. After August 4, the 8th Edition will be the code to use exclusively.
