OSHA Fall Protection Training Schedule for Mass Contractors

Posted by Mark Paskell on Thu, Sep 01, 2011 @ 09:17 AM

Word is slowly getting out that the OSHA Fall Protection deadline for compliance is 9/15/2011. Now that summer is over contractors are gearing up to comply with the OSHA Fall Protection directive.

We have put up training in several locations in Mass for contractors who want to be trained on the standard in time to avoid the hassle of OSHA fines.

In a nut shell the training is for any contractor who works 6' above lower levels. OSHA is requiring a written safety plan and the use of fall arrest systems, guard rails and or safety nets when working above this height. OSHA is also requiring that you train your workers. OSHA says your workers are employees and subs who work on your projects. This twist means you should make sure that your subs do there own training and provide you with proof that they comply.

Who should take the training; Remodelers, Builders, Siding, Gutter and Painting contractors, Roofers and any contractor who at heights of 6' above lower levels.

Here are the training dates for the next few weeks;

9/8/2011 and 9/15/2011 in Auburn, Ma.

9/9/2011 at Brockway Smith in Andover, Ma

9/13/2011 at Holiday Inn in Taunton, Ma.

9/16/2011 at Mid Cape Home Center in Hyannis, Ma.

We currently have several seats available on all dates. But we suggest you sign up soon to beat the last minute rush. For some reason contractors tend to wait until the last minute. If we get bombarded we will try to do the best we can to get you in on time.
