Mass RRP Workshop @ National Lumber on 1/7/2014

Numerous calls and email requests for help from Mass contractors have compelled Shawn McCadden and I to bring back our RRP Implementation Workshop for 2014. Since the EPA RRP Law became effective in 2010 there have been numerous changes in both the EPA and Mass RRP Laws.

I continue fielding questions from contractors trained before Mass took over the law in 2010 who are unaware of the new changes in the Mass version. Adding to the lack of knowledge there have been several EPA amendments with some impact on Mass contractors.

After almost four years there are many contractors who don't know that there is a new updated RRP Manual RRP Manual Pictureand new Renovate Right brochure. They are stilll suing the old RRP Manual. Many contractors do not know that Mass added the OSHA Lead in Construction requirements to the EPA law nor do they know that Mass requires records be kept for 10 years. Sign up for the RRP Workshop and You will recive a free updated RRP Manual.

I fear many contractors are going to be caught with the short end of the stick when the Mass RRP officials visit their site. Already there are over 70 Mass companies who have been fined and visited by the Department of Labor Standards. Check out the list here. When you look at the list you will notice that enforcement is happening all over the state with fines ranging from a few hundred dollars to over $25,000.

The workshop will bring you up to date with all the changes and we will guiide you on how to incorporate the changes into your planning for 2014.           Sign Up Here Mass RRP Workshop 1/7/2014

Breaking News: Mass DLS RRP Round table Meeting 11/25/2013

Tomorrow the Department of Labor Standards is holding a round table meeting in Worcester, Ma. with stakeholders regarding the recent and future changes to RRP in Massachusetts. I was told that there may be another meeting open to the public after the holidays. The purpose of the meetings are to discuss the changes Mass is going to make to the RRP Law. The Mass Law has to be amended to incorporate some of the EPA amendments that make the law stricter. I will let you know what was said and what may be coming later this week.
