Estimating tools 4 contractors to produce accurate estimates quickly

You know contractors use carefully selected tools to build their projects, but before you do you need the right estimating tools to make sure you cover your labor and material costs, overhead and net profit. One or two mistakes can cost you your hard earned profit and maybe lead to you buying the job.

Many contractors are currently using the Wild Ass Guess (WAG) or Scientific Wild Ass Guess (SWAG) Method when estimating projects. Not sure of true costs, burdened labor, fluctuating workmen's compensation and insurance costs some contractors discover at the end of the job that they bought it!

In our Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut buisness seminars we see and hear contractors fears and concerns about losing money and sleep due to inaccurate estimating.

Maybe you use the yellow pad or a square foot cost based on what feels right and use pricing that you think will win the job. Yellow Pad Estimating

Or as one Massachusetts contractor recently said he puts his finger up in the air to see which way the competitive wind is blowing before he puts the number on the estimate.

Either way do you know exactly what you need to charge (your markup) because you took the time to figure out your true costs?

In our Hands On Estimating Workshop, Remodeling Industry Expert Shawn McCadden gives his estimating tools (used by thousands of contractors nationwide) to contractor students and we teach you using Shawn's tools, how to figure out your true costs, burdened labor, and how to caculate the right markup so you have the right money in your selling price. Then with you're hand selected tools of the trade you can build a project knowing you have the right number to produce a fair net profit for the risk you take running your business.

Producing accurate fixed price estimates quickly for impatient consumers who want it yesterday is essential to prevent them form going to your competition.

You know the drill, the consumer calls and wants a proposal and price yesterday. You need to get back to them quickly so they don't hire the competition.

Can your estimating process deliver accurate and timely pricing for this demanding consumer? Systemizing your process will allow you to accurately figure your pricing so you can with confidence respond to consumers who want push button service. But first you must develop and implement a predictable estimating process that allows you to deliver.

To achieve predictable estimating results come and join us at one of our Hands on Estimating Workshops and incorporate Shawn's accurate estimating tools into your business.
