In a recent Mass DLS RRP Training we had a contractor volunteer step up to don Personal Protective Equipment.

He enjoyed taking this picture as the rest of the class ribbed him.

We are fast approaching 2015 where all those contractors who earned their Certified Renovator Certification in 2010 must now renew their RRP Certificate. The renewal certification course is only 4 hours. Oh by the way the State of Massachusetts changed the term Certified Renovator to Lead Safe Renovator Supervisor

RRP Refresher Renewal Course in Massachusetts

In Massachusetts under the Mass RRP Lead Law (454 CMR 22.00) contractors are expected to renew their certificate within 60 days of the expiration date.

Don't forget to schedule your RRP Refresher Training

We have been fielding many calls from contractors who cannot remember their renewal date because they lost their certificates. As we help them replace their lost certificates we are reminding them not to forget to sign up before the expiration date. Working without the certification in Mass can be costly. The DLS has fined over 100 Mass contractors for various violations.

In 2010 we remember the droves of contractors who waited to the last minute to obtain their training. This lead to sold out classes and frustrated contractors who had to wait for training dates to open up. Now that the Mass remodeling market is heating up many of you are very busy and may forget to schedule your class in time.

We recommend that you look into to scheduling your RRP Renewal class early to make sure you don't get caught working with an expired certification.
