The historic winter in the Boston metropolitan area has caused thousands of homeowner insurance claims. The main culprits leading to damage, snow, ice and cold weather causing;

Do you play not to lose or do you put forward the effort and prepare to win? When you play not to lose you are on the defensive and appear weak when trying to win business from the consumer. You question your price and the consumer picks up the vibes and your lack of confidence. They make up any excuse or reason to get you to drop your price even further. If you cave and they buy, you end up taking on a project that makes you feel unworthy. You settle and think oh well this is all I can get even though you know you deserve better and you should walk away instead of settling.

As I write this post I am looking out the window at large ice dams and 6 foot snow drifts at my home in central Massachusetts. I remember back in 1995-96 when we had similar weather we were shoveling off roofs for three weeks. The damage to roofs, ceilings, walls, siding and floors was immense.

What amount of profitable sales volume does a  remodeler or contractor need to be successful? This question has been on my mind lately as I am getting a lot of calls for coaching from remodelers who are producing $500 to $600 grand in business. They tell me they have reached a plateau.
